A dynamic, three-in-one direct radiography (DR) system provides real-time images for fluoroscopy, general radiography, and direct exposures.

Agfa HealthCare (Mortsel, Belgium) presented its DX-D 800 at ECR 2012. The many features and design elements of this complete, automated X-ray room improve workflow and maximize patient comfort, while enhancing flexibility in diagnostics and increasing the mobility of the solution, for greater productivity. The DX-D 800 is part of Agfa HealthCare’s range of DR solutions.

The DX-D 800 is a complete digital X-ray room fitted with a dynamic, portable, and removable flat-panel detector. This remote-controlled, multipurpose system allows a very broad range of fluoroscopy and radiology exams, as well as direct exposures. Fluoroscopy applications include gastrointestinal examinations, urogenital, angiography and interventional radiology. Radiography applications include skull, thorax, abdomen, spine and pelvis, as well as full leg/full spine (FLFS) with automatic image stitching.

The mobility of the DX-D 800 also makes it suitable for pediatric, extremity and lateral images, as well as for use with patients with reduced mobility.

The DX-D 800 comes with a remote controlled table as well as a video camera for positioning the patient without irradiation. Both play a significant part in ensuring a fast and easy procedure for the patient. The system also has predetermined automatic collimation and filters for each protocol, which allow a potential dose reduction while optimizing image quality.

“At ECR 2012, visitors can see that our DX-D 800 is more than a converted X-ray room. Its innovative room design concept offers greater ergonomy for staff, and enhanced comfort and safety for patients,” commented Dirk Debusscher, vice president imaging at Agfa HealthCare. “Thanks to the remote controlled table and video camera, the patient can be positioned easily, without irradiation. Yet it fully supports our goal to ‘make no compromises in image quality,’ with its dynamic, real-time imaging for fluoroscopy and radiography, and its imaging excellence.”
