Breakthrough Technology Revolutionizes Breast Imaging

Mammography is currently the primary method for detecting breast cancer at an early stage and improving treatment outcomes. Despite its widespread use, mammography has notable limitations, particularly in terms of sensitivity and reliability in cases of dense breast tissue. Dense breast tissue can lead to 10-15% of mammograms yielding inconclusive results, resulting in additional testing. Besides, mammography also raises safety concerns. It is also problematic for women with breast implants, as mammograms can be painful, delay cancer detection due to interference in imaging breast tissue, and deter women from undergoing mammograms due to fear of implant rupture, dislocation, or capsular contracture. Now, a patient-centric breast imaging technology provides highly accurate, 100% safe, and painless breast imaging that can be used to identify cancer early to minimize invasiveness and increase the effectiveness of treatment. It can also be used to eliminate unnecessary intervention (additional imaging and biopsies) for women with benign breast conditions, most notably cysts.
QT Imaging’s (Novato, CA, USA) QTI Breast Acoustic CT System, featuring the trademarked Breast ACT technology, marks an advancement in breast imaging. It eliminates uncomfortable breast compression, radiation exposure, and the need for contrast agents or injections, prioritizing patient comfort and safety. The state-of-the-art system delivers high-quality, high-resolution 3D images. Moreover, it overcomes the limitations of traditional mammography by providing consistent and reproducible image quality for patients with dense breast tissue or implants. This positions the QTI system as a major advancement in healthcare imaging, setting a new standard in breast imaging excellence.
“The QTI Breast Acoustic CT System represents a leap forward in patient-centric breast imaging,” said Nasser Pirshafiey, Chief Product Officer at QTI. “By harnessing the power of our advanced technology and eliminating the discomfort associated with traditional methods, we're redefining the standard of care and empowering patients with a safer, more comfortable imaging experience.”
