An MRI exam can take as long as 90 minutes, resulting in extreme discomfort for patients with claustrophobia or movement disorder and even requiring sedation at times. Until a few years back, technological advancements in the field of MRI were heavily dependent on hardware, as in magnets and coils. However, with the advent of deep-learning, bible-like equations between hardware, scan time, and image quality are all being decoupled. Now, a deep-learning-based MRI reconstruction software reduces scan times by up to 50% without compromising image quality. When MRI scans are made at shorter scan times, the resulting output image is of low quality. However, the MRI reconstruction software makes up for this gap in image quality during post-processing with the use of AI-powered denoising and sharpening.

SwiftMR from AIRS Medical (Seoul, South Korea) is an AI-powered software designed to reduce MRI scan and wait times. SwiftMR uses fine-tuned deep learning technology to enhance MRI image quality. It is capable of reducing MRI scan times by up to 50% while enhancing image quality using AI-powered denoising and sharpening. Importantly, SwiftMR can help improve MRI productivity without the need to purchase additional scanners or go for existing MRI upgrades. SwiftMR has expanded into over 14 countries and accumulated over 1.1 million processed exams in over 300 institutions. AIRS Medical has now received EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) CE certification for SwiftMR, which is expected to further accelerate its market expansion in Europe.

"Our MDR CE certification clearly shows AIRS Medical's capabilities in product quality and regulatory compliance," said Hyeseong Lee, CEO of AIRS Medical. "Through this certification, we will accelerate our market growth in the European market."
