GE Healthcare (Chicago, IL, USA) finally returned to an onsite European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2022 where the company demonstrated its advanced imaging technology for enhancing patient care, alongside its artificial intelligence (AI) & digital solutions that aim to transform clinical outcomes, radiology efficiency and enterprise efficiency.
At ECR 2022, GE Healthcare presented the Revolution Ascend CT system that pairs a new 75-centimeter-wide gantry design with a lower table position to increase the patient area inside the bore by 22% as compared to previous generation GE CT scanners. GE Healthcare also introduced the SIGNA Hero, a 70 cm bore, 3.0T MRI scanner that enhances workflow, productivity and patient comfort, making difficult exams routine. In addition, visitors to the company’s booth experienced the all-new Vscan Air wireless handheld ultrasound systems that enables whole-body scanning and delivers crystal-clear images at the point of care.
In the field of radiography, GE Healthcare demonstrated the AMX Navigate mobile X-ray system that includes key benefits incorporating a new level of effortless workflow with the Free Motion telescoping column, Zero Click Exam workflow and exclusive AI applications to achieve clinical excellence. GE Healthcare also highlighted Definium Tempo, its next generation fixed X-ray system designed to simplify technologist’s workflow, improve consistency and diagnostic confidence, and reduce errors to keep radiology departments running smoothly and profitably. Also on display was the OEC 3D C-arm that is designed to bring high-definition 3D and 2D images covering a large FOV to surgical suites and integrating into existing surgical workflows.
Among its AI & Digital Solutions, GE Healthcare demonstrated Edison True PACS, an intelligent diagnostic reading and workflow solution that allows radiologists to work smarter, and Critical Care Suite 2.0, a collection of AI algorithms embedded on X-ray systems for automated measurements, case prioritization and quality control. In addition, GE Healthcare showcased ProFound AI by iCAD for Senographe Pristina, a high-performing, concurrent-read, workflow solution that rapidly and accurately analyzes each tomosynthesis plane, detecting both malignant soft tissue densities and calcifications with exceptional accuracy.
